Temporary Foreign Workers Work Permit
To participate in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, a Canadian company must submit an LMIA. Employers are required to promote open positions under TFWP at least 4 weeks prior to submitting an LMIA application. Additionally, it must be shown that no qualified Canadians are available to fill the given position. A foreign worker cannot apply for a work permit until a positive LMIA has been issued.
