Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP)

Numerous foreign students finish their post-secondary studies in Canada each year, and many of them want to remain and gain work experience there. A foreign student who successfully completes their education is qualified to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). They can now work in Canada as a result.

Foreign students have the chance to apply for a three-year work visa from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which allows them to work and remain in Canada.

PGWP eligibility requirements include:

  1. Must have completed at least eight months of full-time study in Canada
  2. Have completed post-secondary education in a private college that complies with public  institution policies
  3. Have studied at a private Canadian university that is permitted to award degrees by provincial statute
  4. Must have applied for a work visa within 90 days of receiving written confirmation from the university that they have met the requirements of the study program
  5. Have a valid study permit while applying for a work permit; have successfully finished and passed the study program and are qualified to receive the degree, diploma, or certificate
